Starting Out with System Defaults
As much as possible, the Pen application programming interface (API) handles
the many complexities of pen-based computing. A rich API leaves the developer
free to concentrate on design without having to worry about details. This chapter
describes how to create a pen-based application that relies on the system
default services of the Pen API. For the sake of simplicity, the term "application"
as used in this chapter refers both to Windows-based programs and dynamic-link
libraries (DLLs).
