confidence level
A value assigned by a recognizer to indicate its degree of certainty in the
results of a recognition. For example, in recognizing the word "clear," a
recognizer assigns a confidence level to each of the five letters and can also assign
a confidence level to the entire word. Word lists and dictionaries can
influence confidence levels.
